2009

We have had an absolutely wonderful year!! We found out in September of 08 that we would be getting a new family member in 2009. On June 4th of 2009 we welcomed Hutch to the family. Here we are in December of 2009, and we hardly remember what life was like before him. That in itself is enough to make 2009 a blessed year, but we have had so many other wonderful things in 2009....Neely started Kindergarten and loves it, Cannon lost his first tooth and is doing wonderful in the 2nd grade, many good MRIs for my Dad (no new cancer), Les got to play lots of golf, a visit to Alabama to show off our sweet boy to his Great Grandmother and Aunts, Uncles and cousins, a trip to Kentucky for my cousins wedding where we again showed off Hutch...espcially to his Great Grandfather whom he is named after, I ran my first half marathon, and am in the midst of training for my first marathon, many wonderful family gatherings, Les and I have both maintained our jobs in a time when so many have not, Les' Mom bought a house in Cedar Park and our children have been very healthy.....and the list goes on and on.

We have so much to look forward to in the year to come! Neely will turn 6 in February, Cannon will turn 8 in April and we will have a 1 year old in less than 6 months. Gran will move here and be taking care of Hutch, no more daycare! We have a trip to the beach this summer that is going to be AMAZING!! I will hopefully finish my first marathon, and sign up for several half marathons in the year to come. Les, of course, will play lots more golf....and maybe I'll even get out there and learn to swing those sticks too! And we hope to continue to get good MRI reports every other month...we just got a good one last week!

2010...I think we are ready for you, but we sadly say goodbye to 2009, for she has been so good to us!

Happy New Year's to all! Hope your 2010 is the BEST!

press on nails

Remember Lee press on nails? Now they have these nails for little girls, they come with the adhesive already on them....easy, schmeasy!! Neely got press on nails from Santa in her stocking....and she is in LOVE! She first got to try the press on nails a few weeks before Christmas at her friend Ryan's house. She came home that afternoon tapping her new nails on everything, and I caught her looking at her hands on the banister as she was going up the stairs. Luckily these press on nails for kids only stay on for about 4 to 8 hours (if you are extra careful, and don't wash your hands) because she does seem extra special sassy when she has them on! Definitely worth the $7.99 for 3 sets of nails though, FUN to watch her priss around even more than usual.

Back to normal

Well, little by little we are getting gifts put up and in their places. In the next week I hope to get all of the Christmas stuff taken down, and get ready for the new year. We have had an absolutely wonderful Christmas, and time with our sweet family. We are blessed beyond measure, and I have guilt for getting so much when there are so many that get little to nothing. I say it every year, and I feel it every year...we do way too much!

My Mom is staying for the next week to keep Hutch because his school is closed. Everyone else was gone as of 6:30 this evening. Brent and Julie stuck around most of the day and went with Les and I to have to sushi before getting out of town! We took advantage of Meme still being here and left Hutch with her.

The house is quiet now, there are a million things I should and could be doing....other than blogging! So, I'll go find a home for all of my new stuff, but I will leave you with my FAVORITE pictures. Yes, some of these were already posted in collages, but I had to post them again because I loved them so.

As you can see, I had a lot of favorites....my holiday was full of them!!

The Real McCoy

I am pretty sure we were in the presence of the REAL Santa last night at a neighborhood party. Some of our friends have Santa at their house every year on Christmas Eve Eve. Santa makes a grand appearance, tells a lovely story and has a present and a warm smile for each and every child. He was absolutely perfect right down to his rosy cheeks. Neely snuggled up right next to him, and I am pretty sure she picture crashed everyone else's pictures, because she had to poke him every 5 minutes to make sure he was real. Cannon and Neely were in awe! It was a wonderful time, and seeing Santa through my children's eyes was beautiful and pure.

Thank you Seller family for including us in your wonderful night. What a great experience for kids of all ages!!!

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!!!

Cannon's message from Santa

Neely's message from Santa

Here's a link to the website to do your child's message from Santa! It is so much fun! I did one for Cannon & Neely....their eyes lit up...so precious. I know there is very little time that they actually believe, in fact, Cannon already is starting to ask questions...it's just a matter of time! Have fun with it while you can!!
