Cannon's Baptism

Cannon's baptism was today, so yesterday Carrie-Ann, Jason, Ashley, Meme & Poppie rolled into town for the big day.  We walked the trails yesterday, went to the pool & of course did some good eating!

This morning Jason, CA & I got up for a short & sweet 3.5 mile run, which included the killer of all hills, Abottsbury.  Trust me, it's brutal.  After a run we got home and got ready for church, and Cannon's baptism.  With his Dad's & Stepmom's family and my family we completely filled two rows!  There was a lot of love there for Cannon this morning, and we were all incredibly proud of him and his decision.  His Dad & his Poppie (my Dad) went in the water with him for the Baptism.  It was such a special moment, one that he will never forget!

On a very sweet and special side note, Cannon & Neely couldn't wait to give me a very special Mother's Day present.  I was completely blown away by this precious gift, and I will treasure it forever.  Long story short, Laurie's (their Stepmom's) mother, Barbara is a quilter.  She made a quilt for me with pictures of Zoe & Lola, my precious pugs that passed away last year.  Mark, Laurie, Cannon & Neely worked hard on getting very special pictures of my sweet girls for this amazing quilt.  Barbara did a beautiful job quilting it.  Is this the sweetest gift ever or what? Words can't express my gratitude to all of them for this special gift.  You can see the look on C & N's faces as I opened this wonderful gift, they were so proud!!  When I boo-hoo'd I hear there wasn't a "dry eye in the house (or outside the house)"

I'll take some close up pics of the quilt soon!  It's amazing, and such a special gift.

Weekend perfection, right here!

Dinner with the Strehlow Family

My longtime friend, Jessica, her husband, Kevin & son, Jackson came Friday night for a visit.  They were going to be in Austin for a birthday party on Saturday, and made a pitt stop at the Campbell Casa for dinner and a warm bed for the evening.  We had a wonderful time visiting, catching up & watching our boys (only 2 weeks apart) have a blast together.  Of course, Cannon & Neely enjoyed having another little one in the house too!  Saturday morning we decided to maximize our time together by getting up early and taking a walk, then after breakfast letting the boys take off on the fire truck for a cruise around the cul-de-sac.

We had such a wonderful time, and hope the Strehlows know they always have a place to stay in Austin! Come back soon, and we will walk the full trail and really let the boys get dirty and have fun!!!

Fostering Henry

I am a glutton for punishment, I know this.  I just can't say no to these sweet little faces!  Thank goodness Les puts up with me and my shedding friends.  I picked Henry up on Sunday afternoon, and am fostering him until he finds his forever home.  The first night with Henry was awful.  After a sweet little talk (with a choker collar & a spray bottle of vinegar and water) Henry is now King Henry, and we are buds!!  I think he is going to be a wonderful pet, and I am sure he will be snapped right up as soon as he goes to an adoption day with Austin Pug Rescue.

County Line Birthday

Cannon picked County Line on the Lake for his birthday dinner!  He wanted some ribs, so he picked the perfect place.

It was a fun night celebrating our boy's 10th birthday!  We have one more day of birthday stuff today.  We are off to see "Mary Poppin" Broadway Across America!  I am taking the big kids, a gift to Cannon from Meme...Neely & I get to benefit :).

What a great weekend we have had celebrating Cannon's birthday!
