Easter 2013

We started Easter on Tuesday with Cannon & Neely by dying some Easter eggs.  They were gone (again) this year for Easter, so we had to get some business taken care of before they left!!!

As you can see, they were having fun!!!  They love each other so much! (notice Lulu didn't want to miss the family time either)

Yesterday was the annual "Eggstravaganza" at the country club.

He was so excited about seeing the Easter Bunny!

He rode the train, AND he got to ride in his favorite color car... GEEN (right, geen)!

He was SO EXCITED about the hunt!  Check out that underbite :).  He's so cute and his orthodontic work is going to be so expensive! :D

Waiting as patiently as he possibly could!

GO Hutch!!!! He had fun, but he wasn't competitive like I thought he would be.  He just picked up about 6 and was fine with that.   Sweet boy!  (wait till next year all you ones that got a basketful this year).

Gran went with us and was so sweet to do all the activities with him!  Here they were waiting to plant a flower and decorate their pot.  They planted a marigold.

Bubbles!

This morning Hutch was really excited about his basket!  He could not stop talking about the Easter bunny as he was going to sleep last night (he slept with me).  I swear he fell asleep talking about the bunny!

We went to 8:30 church service this morning to celebrate the REAL reason for Easter!!!

"They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus."  Luke 24:2-3

"Don't be alarmed", he said.  "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified.  He has risen!  He is not here.  See the place where they laid him."  Mark 16:6

He is Risen!!!

After church

Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead
I will rise! - Chris Tomlin

Hill Country Round-Up!

Hill Country Christian School rented out Reunion Ranch in Georgetown for a community get together today!  From 2p-7p the kids were free to run wild around the grounds of RR.  Playscapes, ziplines, paddle boats, mini golf, BBQ & ice cream!!!  The kids had so much fun running around with their buddies from school.

Unfortunately, I missed this awesome day.  I have had a stomach bug this weekend.  I have tried to rally as much as I possibly could, but today was a bad day.  It was not a good day for me to get too far from home.  I am glad that Les was willing and able to take the kids to this fun event!!!   Thank you honey!

District Speech Meet

After competing against her own school in "Speech Meet", Neely was chosen to move onto District and compete against 3 other private schools.  Hill Country was hosting this year, so at least we were on our turf :).  She was not nervous this morning, in fact, she was relaxed and excited.  I was the one that was nervous!

We checked in at 7:45 am and waited for the opening assembly.

At open assembly, still all smiles and still not nervous!

She and her classmate Mia waiting to be called back to do their speeches.  They were taken back in groups at 9am and we were not allowed to see them again until they had performed their selections for the judges. At that point I went home and waited, I picked her back up at 10:30 and we went back at 1pm for the awards ceremony.

At the awards ceremony Neely and her classmate Ellie (who she was actually competing against) sat together, hand in hand waiting to be called on stage!

Holding hands, so excited!!!

Les, Gran & Aunt Liz watching the awards

You can get a "good", "excellent" or "superior", our girl got a SUPERIOR!!!

Happy girl!!  We are so proud!

Ellie, Neely & Kate, Kate got the silver medal and Ellie got the gold medal.  Neely did not get a medal, but we are so, so proud of her.  Last year she would barely speak up for her speech and this year she was competing with the best of the best!!!

Hill Country Knights, way to go!!

We Love Cousins!

When we got back to Austin we were greeted by Gran's side of the family.  Shirley's sister Liz drove down from Alabama and brought their first cousin Rhonda with her.  Rhonda's Mother and Liz & Shirley's Mother were sisters.  Rhonda's daughter, Tara, her husband Chad and their boys Hudson & Porter live in Fort Worth, so they drove down for a visit (and a little sight seeing and good eating in Austin) and then took Rhonda back to FW with them! Hudson is 4, so he and Hutch had a BIG time together!  I'm sure Porter will be in on the action when he is a little bit bigger, he's only 6 months old and soooo precious!

Hutch & Hudson

They had such a great time together!  I sure hope we can get these two together again!  Hudson's Mom, Dad, baby Brother & Meme were pretty sweet too, we really enjoyed them all!
